Dr. Parth Sarthi Sen Gupta is a Computational Biologist and Associate Professor at the School of Biosciences and Bioengineering, D Y Patil International University (DYPIU), Akurdi, Pune. His academic and professional journey highlights the transformative power of interdisciplinary science, driven by curiosity, determination, and a passion for solving complex biological challenges.

Early Life and Academic Journey

Born and raised in Ranchi, his early fascination with biology set the stage for his academic pursuits. He began his higher education at Burdwan University, completing a B.Sc. in Biotechnology in 2009. Motivated to delve deeper into the field, he pursued an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, graduating in 2011 from the same institution.

For his doctoral studies, he joined the Department of Biotechnology at Burdwan University, where he earned a Ph.D. in Computational Biology. His research during this time focused on molecular modeling and computational methods in vaccine design, providing the foundation for his future endeavors.

After completing his Ph.D., he embarked on a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Chemistry, IISER Berhampur. As an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow from April 13, 2018, he expanded his expertise, integrating computational biology with chemistry to address multidisciplinary challenges.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions to advancing science. His research portfolio includes over 50 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals, such as the Journal of Cellular Biochemistry (Wiley-Blackwell). Additionally, he holds three patents, underscoring his commitment to innovation and translating research into impactful technologies.

One of the milestones of his career has been the development of AbhiSCoVac, a novel vaccine platform. This groundbreaking work has earned international recognition, including commendations from the World Health Organization and DST Science Story, and has been featured by leading global media outlets. The platform epitomizes his dedication to addressing critical global health challenges through computational solutions.
