We are delighted to share that Dr. Parth Sarthi Sen Gupta and his PhD scholars, Arpita Khamle and Varshini Kore, have achieved a remarkable milestone with the publication of their latest research in ACS Chemical Neuroscience.
The article, titled "Dual Inhibition of IDO1 and TDO: A Unified Therapeutic Strategy to Combat Alzheimer’s Disease and Cancer" presents a powerful therapeutic approach that targets two key enzymes of the kynurenine pathway IDO1 and TDO offering new hope in the fight against both neurodegeneration and cancer.
This study uncovers:
The molecular framework and dynamics of simultaneous inhibition of IDO1 and TDO.
Identification of promising phytochemical-based inhibitors with dual-target specificity.
A unifying mechanism connecting immune suppression in cancer with inflammation-driven neuronal damage in Alzheimer’s.
A special shoutout to Arpita Khamle—this marks her first publication as a PhD scholar, and we couldn’t be prouder. Kudos as well to Varshini Kore for her continued dedication, and to Dr. Saroj Kumar Panda for his valuable scientific input.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Manish B. Bhalla, and Prof. Prabhat Ranjan (Research, Innovation, and International Relations), whose unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental throughout this journey.
Congratulations once again to the entire team. This achievement stands as a testament to your innovation, hard work, and commitment to advancing science.
